Jannibah, I liked the way this podcast was done. You explained the theory and it's strengths in an easy to understand way. Good job. The sound was clear and I could understand what you were explaining.
I think you had some music and V.O. synching issues in the beginning, but that became fine later in the podcast. I liked the scene involving the cars on the screen and the lyrics talking about "freedom in the car" and the raised fist made it quite powerful. The music definitely added a nice touch, and it put the viewer in a relaxed state of mind while watching it. I sure did! Looking forward to your final podcast.

Don’t forget to go back and add the reflective blog entry. You need to tweak the audio—the music is much louder than your voice. Also, while I think I see where the introduction is headed, you may want to make it more explicit up front and shorten it a bit—it makes up around 25% of the video. Watch for stray audio—the music comes back in around 1:15 or so. The slides look good, but you need to turn off the Ken Burns effect (and I do recognize that this can be a problem depending on how you bring the image in). I’m not quite sure why we are switching to the stacks in the library, though I think the idea that it is combining disciplines. You might come in tight on books that have the discipline written on them—perhaps textbooks. Watch for stray video clips as well (2:21). In a short video like this, try to avoid reusing clips. The strength and weakness sections are well done. Did I miss a discussion of innovators in the your discussion of Rogers? Other than that, I thought you had a very accessible discussion of the theory.

Jannibah—

I liked the music you used at the beginning and end of your podcast. However, there was a place where it crept in and was over your voice. You fixed that throughout the rest of the podcast. I also liked the b-roll at the beginning and throughout the podcast, but at first I wasn’t exactly sure how it all fit with your topic. Maybe you could refer to examples like the adoption of the Internet (goes with you and Brandy sitting at computer surfing the net) and the television (Ashley watching car racing). I think this would help to provide a better connection between your topic and the b-roll. You seemed to know your topic very well and you spoke very clearly. The text slides helped the viewer know what you were talking about. You might consider turning off the Ken Burn’s effect on the slides with a lot of text because the text moved a little faster than I could read. You explained your topic very well.

I enjoyed the introduction, it contained a lot of good b-roll. In fact, your entire podcast contained a lot of good b-roll. The music went with it as well. I liked the number of different shots you used. You were kind of hard to understand there at the beginning, but the audio cleared up very well towards the middle. There was one time, however, where the music started up again while you were talking. I liked that you used the slides to give us a visual of what you were discussing, but for next time you may want to leave out the zoom-in effect. It is good for pictures but it was cutting off your words. Also, the slides went by a bit fast. I am a super slow reader so I missed a lot. Overall you did great. It was very informative; you really were well prepared. You did a great job of making the cast interesting with the various b-roll. Nicely done.
